The Little Things About My Grandma

I've been thinking about my family a lot recently but the one person who always stays in my mind is my grandma. While in the shower, come on people you know that's where you think about what happened today and about life, I used this soap my friend Marriza have me for Christmas that smells like lavender. Now let me say this right now: I remember things mostly off smell. I can tell you how the day my brother was born smelled or how my room smells in the summer or how the shirt of my uncle smells like when I was 6. Its scent memory. Anyways once I smelled it, I instantly got a flash back of my last trip to Mexico. While I was in the shower. I swear guys I'm not this creepy but in my head I instantly got an image of my grandma's shower on the second floor of the house. And it smelled completely like lavender. Lavender to me smells like my grandma. And how much I miss her. After this I started thinking of all the little things that make her so special. Like the way she used to fret every time we arrived to her house and when we left she would cry a river, I'm not exaggerating she must have drank a bunch of water because she went on for hours, or when she would freak out because I would wear black, her least favorite color in the world, or just the way she used to cry with so much emotion that it would bring me to tears instantly. God knows I love my grandpa but when my grandma died it hit me hard. I have only cried twice at school: when my grandpa died and when my grandma died. The difference is that I cried the whole damn day after she died. My grandma had some quirky things too like how she only wore nightgowns or only had half her pinky or would give me her laundry to wash, after she embarrassingly asked if I would wash it for her, in a small little ball, or how he loved to hear my siblings and is sing. The last time she heard us she cried, which of course, made me cry. My grandma was one of the most strongest, fierce, and hardworking woman I have ever met.

I just thought I'd write about these thoughts and my amazing grandma because sometimes you just gotta let it out. And I know if she was here she'd listen to me.

I love you Mama Maria,

My Not So Great Weekend

So I'm not the type of person to rant on the internet so since I had a not so awesome weekend I'm deciding to look on the optimistic side of it and write about that. When life throws you curve balls, throw them back and hit the pitcher in the face with it.

This weekend I went to spend it with my sister's Nina and Nino in a small town Deleno. Now since this town isn't that famous nor very known by people here are some fun facts for you:

  1. Deleno was founded on July 14, 1869 as a railroad town
  2. It is one of the top 5 polluted towns in Southern California
  3. It is in the mitts of grape fields and cow farms( aka the middle of no where)
  4. The average temperature: 77.7 degrees
  5. North Kern State Prison is located there which holds the worst prisoners in Southern California
Let me enfensize that this town is in the middle of nowhere. Land and grapes and land and cows is all you see there. Plus there is a weird yuck smell to the air there. Its so dense that the water smells like it too. Whoop.
But my favorite part is driving throw Gorman Mountain. To get up to north California my family has to drive through this mountain which takes about an hour long. But through this mountain there is this lake called Pyramid Lake which is absolutely beautiful. I'd love to camp there and just spend a wonderful weekend there. I have this tradition that when I drive through Gorman I have to listen to this song called "Sunny Came Home." Listen to it. It is magic put on bread by unicorns and friendship.

As I stayed in the home of my sister's grandparents, I was basically bullied by her Nina. And this happens all the time but this time I just felt it a little worse. I think it's because I actually notice small details that make a big difference like how sentences are ended with a bit of attitude or how a look can say a thousand words. So that was already a downfall for me. I spent on the floor that night which was amazing for me because one thing that bugs me to the max is sleeping on unusual beds. I mean I'll sleep on people's bed whole I like and know have the same sleeping habits as me or smell really good but this was none of these situations. So the floor was the best option for me. But then the light went out in the whole city which was a downfall for me for I was talking to Ben which was the only  thing keeping me calm. Plan B was listening to classical music and sleeping. That worked.

The next day I ate Menudo which is in the short term, cow stomach. Ew. I have never liked with because of the sole fact that I can not chew it. Nope not eating that. After we got ready we drove almost an hour to Tulare Country where an outdoor mall was. I didn't mind the long drive but this time I did. Because my internal self got the better of me. I started thinking of all the twisted and messed up things my family has done and has happened along with the death of my grandparents and just everything that's been happening in my life. I got into a depressive state I haven't visited in a really long time. This emotional wave got the better of me and well I'm still recovering from it now. And this stated with the thought of "Wow were 30 minutes away from my cousin's house." Not my best moment. This state wasn't helped when I found at least 5 different guys staring at me like I was food. Here's the thing about me: I hate stares. Guys, girls, parents, anyone; I don't like attention. This is really weird because when I'm dancing that all goes away and I want it all but if I'm not on stage, you look I bite. Since Ben wasn't there nor my dad I had no bodyguard and was forced to hide in clothes racks and behind clothes. I am a chicken. Bock Bock.

When we headed "home" after, ashamedly eating Mc Donald's, I watched "Dance Academy" on Netflix because I don't like talking to peoples and I had wifi. Plus for me. After a couple of hours we headed home and I of course fell asleep like a baby for the whole 2 hour drive. As I got home my bed felt like feathers and my pillow like silk as I drifted off to Natalieland with all the pikachus and french fries in the world.

And that was my horrific weekend. Never again. Nope. I will boycott the crap out of my parents and basically chain myself to my bed until I am able to stay home. No bullying. No emotional flashes like in the dark past. No sleeping on the floor. No stinky water. Just home sweet home.

♥ Cute Things For Valentine's Day ♥

Valentine's Day is coming up and yes, I know its basically national single's day. BUT! If your like me and have that special someone in your life, I talk to them now. I'm calling on all those lucky guys who have their lucky lady, their apple to their eye, their smile to their day, their sun to their shine....and ultimately have nothing to give them for Valentin'e Day. Yes boys, we know your out there clueless as ever and having slight panic attacks because you have nothing planned. Well your in lucky! I'm here to help y'all.

There are three levels of gifts you can give your girl: Your Basic TV Cheshe Valentine, The Creative Know Your Girl Valentine, and the Personal Whole Other Level Valentine. Now I'm stating this right now: all girls are different! Certain gifts will work for certain girls! BUT <---- a big but, you MUST get her something, even if she tells you she doesn't wasn't anything. She's lying. No one likes getting nothing on the international day of love. No one. *cold stare* So if you already knew that props to you. If not: learn, you'll get brownie points I bet you. Now that were done with all the basic threatening and saving girls hearts, lets explain the levels.

The Basic TV Cheshe Valentine:
Now this is your basic Valentine gifts, the kind of things you see on Glee and The Vampire Diaries: flowers, a box of chocolates, balloons, a cute stuffed animal. Now this plus a nice dinner out or a date to the movies would work to complete this night of romance with your lady. Now this is kinda unoriginal but thrust me some girls love this! They want that perfect TV date and night out that they dream about. Remember: the cheesiest things are the best. If they didn't work then why do pick up lines work?

The Creative Know Your Girl:
This level of Valentine gifts is where you get your girl something she wouldn't get herself, a little something she would absolutely love. This can range from a new product of make up she's wanted to buy or a favorite little anime figurine from her favorite show. Now, yes I know somethings may be expensive soooo instead of buying her something, make her something. This leads on to our next and last level.

Personal Whole Other Level Valentine:
These gifts are mostly handmade gifts that girls will eat up. Trust me boys, if you take the time to make her something- it will be fantastic. Things like this include jewelry boxes, photo albums, personalized items (notes, rings, bracelets), and such. One of my favorite Youtubers (yes I know I mention them a lot) Danny Duncan and Lindsey Bell or DLV for short, Danny made Lindsey, for Christmas last year, a Harry Potter Monopoly Set. Made it boys. By hand. All personalized pieces, wood board painted squares, the whole nine yards. Yeah, a lot of work (he got his brother to help him) but definitely won Christmas. Buying things to make an object is cheap if you shop at Walmart and places similar. Art supply is cheap there, says the loyal Walmart shopper. If you really want to see your lady's face light up, DO IT.. If you want to do a easier object, draw her something or buy her a locket and put a picture of both of you in it or a personalized bracelet for both of you. That is cute. That is fun. That will work. DO IT.

So there you have it guys! Some ideas that will possibly save you day and not completely ruin this Friday for ya. If you can do any of these and add a nice day out then you guys are golden. Make your girl feel extra special. You might get rewarded later!

A Snapshot a Day 1/27/14

So first and foremost: I GOT INTO UC RIVERSIDE. That seriously made my day. And one of my dear friends made it in with me. SO excited. But I think he's gonna leave me for Hawaii. Bastard.
Yeah yeah I know I haven't done one of these in a very long time but hey, college stuff is difficult. And basically melts your brain into goo. So i took a break to solidify by brain once more but by then it was finals week. Whoo. Not so fun. I passed every one except my Spanish 3 AP one because you know who need Spanish. I do -.-

1. UC RIVERSIDE ACCEPTANCE WHOOOOO

2. Marvel kind of day. Watched the Avengers on Netflix for the first day of a three day weekend

3. Last day of finals with Sabrina and Kirby in Child Development. Oh how I hate that class

4. Been going to Zumba for the past week and it feels so goooood. Exercise is always needed especially when the holidays are over. Also one of my New Year Resolutions

5. My "cousin" cut his hair too look more punk and well, it was a shock. Especially to my mom haha. It works for him. Maybe.

6-7. For child development we must wear the empathy belly to pretend we are pregnant. To my surprise it wasn't that heavy at all. just a lot of strain on the back. My English teach saw me and his look was priceless. SO confused because he just saw me earlier in the day for class. Apparently I'm not the type of girl people think to get pregnant. Whoopy for that I suppose haha. Join the no pregnant club!

And that was my recap blog for January. Wow the first month of the year is almost done. Crap. That means graduation is close. I don't wanna grow up *sobs horribly in the corner*
To not growing up and being a kid forever,
